Cantina Bellosguardo Chianti D.O.C.G.
Item #: IA106
Just west of Florence, in the hills around Lastra a Signa, lies the
winery and vineyards of Cantine Bellosguardo. Gently sloping hills
around the Arno River are planted with the indigenous varietals of
Tuscany. The Chianti of Bellosguardo is made with Sangiovese (75-
90%), Canaiolo Nero (5-10%), Colorino (10%), Malvasia del
Chianti (5-10%, and Trebbiano Toscano (5-10%). The wine is aged
for at least 8 months in traditional large format Slovenian oak
barrels. While very traditional in composition and technique, the
resulting wine is quite modern in style, or at least presents a very
forward and fruit driven nose and palate.
